Working from our office in Ilminster, Homethos provides a free website where you can show your energy-efficient and low carbon improvements to help others who want to improve their own homes in a responsible way.  We want to hear about your successful property improvements where you have reduced your energy consumption or generated electricity at your home or business.  We would also love to hear from you if you can share with other users of this website any useful information that you have on how you have reduced your carbon footprint and/or impact on the environment.  Our main geographical focus is currently on the area within a 15-mile radius of Ilminster in Somerset. 

Like a number of local small businesses, Homethos Limited is based at Horton House in Ilminster.  Horton House provides flexible workspace including part-time furnished offices which are suitable for those who only need an office for one or two days each week.  Horton House does not have a separate website but further details can be found here.

To combat climate change, we need to reduce our carbon footprints.  We can do this by improving the energy efficiency of our homes and workplaces.  We would like to hear from you if you have improved your property to lower your energy consumption or reduce your carbon footprint.  We can use this website to share our experiences and knowledge through the blogs and case studies of successful projects. 

Energy efficiency has become even more important since the massive increase in energy costs.  The UK is particularly vulnerable to the energy crisis because so many of our homes and businesses are poorly insulated and we are dependent on gas to provide heating and electricity.  We have links to some useful websites under the heading ENERGY SAVING GUIDES AND ADVICE in our section: RESOURCES. 

 

Your Projects

We would be delighted to hear from you with details of your successful projects relating to the above categories.  Please let us know if you have had any good experiences with specialists or contractors operating in this area.  We will use the case studies to try to pass on any information or reviews that we think will be useful to other users of this website.  You can choose to remain anonymous or have the information attributed – whichever you prefer.  Any photographs that can be included in the case studies would also be appreciated.
