Home ethos and work-life balance
Space in Ilminster for work and other activities
Working from home (WFH) has become a major part of many of our lives. There are tremendous advantages but also some disadvantages when compared with the pre-covid commute to a local office or workplace. Apart from the inevitable distractions and increased household bills, it can be difficult to switch between work and home life, and this often leads to overworking and a feeling of social isolation and loneliness. There are also potential health and ergonomic issues when using a home environment as an office.
Through this website, Homethos Limited has been promoting a low-carbon, energy-efficient approach since the company was formed in 2011. Useful information is still available on this website but we are now focusing on providing flexible space for use by freelancers, businesses and groups on both a permanent and an occasional basis. We are hoping that a blend of WFH and the occasional day or half-day at our premises in Horton House will help you with your work-life balance.
Like a number of local small businesses, Homethos Limited is based at Horton House in Ilminster. Horton House provides flexible workspace including full-time allocated desking and part-time desks which are suitable for those who only need an office space for one or two days each week. Horton House does not have a separate website but further details can be found here.

We are refurbishing our ground floor premises to provide workspace for ourselves and any local freelancers and businesses who would like to share the space or be co-workers with us on the ground floor at Horton House. Individual offices on flexible monthly licences are also often available on the upper floors through Hicks Property Services Limited. Further details can be found here.
The front area is also available for hire on a daily basis for business meetings, training sessions and for use by local groups who need a convenient meeting place near the town centre. The front area will also be used for coworking on Tuesdays when desk space and a fast broadband connection will be available for workers who want to spend a day at Horton House on an occasional basis without making any prior commitments.
